Informed and inspired by Michael Pollan's books -- Omnivore's Dilemma and In Defense of Food -- we are developing our Dhamma practice about food. This is an expression of right livelihood and non-violence, as well as mindfulness, compassion, simplicity, and non-indulgence.
Enjoying healthy food that tastes good.
Growing what we can (veggies & fruits) and storing in a root cellar (to be built).
Buying from local producers who we know personally.
Avoiding products with long ingredients lists containing weird chemical names or that have been shipped more than 1000 miles.
